Chamber for ban on air horns in Aranthangi

PUDUKOTTAI: The Aranthangi Chamber of Commerce has appealed to the authorities to impose a ban on air horns within Aranthangi town limit.
A resolution adopted to this effect at the executive committee meeting of the chamber held at Aranthangi, recently, said that several private buses and lorries entering Aranthangi from various places were using air horns causing a lot of difficulties to traders as well as the general public.
The Chamber wanted the authorities concerned to expedite the execution of the underground drainage scheme in Aranthangi town.
By another resolution it said, that the authorities should take steps to construct a modern toilet inside the Aranthangi bus stand besides taking steps to repair the clock installed on the tower.
It appealed to the district administration and the Regional Transport Officer to take steps to organise a special camp to issue learners licence renewal.
The meeting was presided over by the chamber president, L. Kailasanathan, in which its general secretary K.V.S. Chinnathambi and other office bearers participated.
