BERHAMPUR: A two-member team of National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Commission reached Daringbadi in Kandhamal district on Wednesday to investigate the allegations of misconduct of miscreants against students of a local residential school for girls. The team comprised members of the commission, Satya Ben and Mrutynjay Nayak. On Tuesday the team held in-camera discussion with administrative and police officials of the district regarding the incident at district headquarters, Phulbani. The team accompanied by Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), southern division, C.T.M.Suguna reached the residential school at Daringbadi. The team interacted with girls at the school. When they were about to return a group of parents and activists of the tribal organisation, Lok Sangram Manch met commission members. General secretary of LSM Santosh Mallik and vice-president Raghunath Padhi met commission members. They gave a memorandum to the commission demanding registration of cases.
