Man detained

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A man who allegedly tried to enter the Prime Minister’s 7 Race Course Road residence here was detained by Special Protection Group personnel and handed over to the police.

He was released after the police found that he was mentally unstable.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the man reached 7 Race Course Road in a taxi and asked the SPG personnel deployed there to allow him in as he wanted to meet the Prime Minister and discuss issues plaguing the country.

He was then detained and handed over to the police. Realising that he was mentally unstable, the police later let him off.
