Three Namakkal students in MBBS toppers’ list

They express gratitude to teachers, parents

NAMAKKAL: Three students who studied in Namakkal schools emerged as toppers in the MBBS/BDS merit list which was released by the Directorate of Medical Education on Wednesday.

P. Praveen Kumar of SRV Boys Higher Secondary School, Rasipuram, secured the first rank. R. Nithyanandan of Kurinji Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Namakkal, who was ranked second, also nurtures the dream of becoming a cardiologist. A native of Namakkal, Nithyanandan, son of a lorry operator, secured centum in biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics.

He wants to pursue medicine in Madras Medical College.

S. Thahseen Nilofar of SRV Girls HSS, Rasipuram, was ranked sixth. A native of Ramanathapuram, she said pursuing medicine was her childhood dream.

“I want to serve people. The medical profession will give me more opportunities to work for the poor,” she said. Nilofar, whose parents are doctors, said hard work and encouragement from her parents and teachers helped her to score high marks in the Plus-Two.
