“Due procedures will be followed in Manapparai doctor case”
Staff Reporter
TIRUCHI: Due procedures will be followed while investigating into the case against the Manapparai doctor couple arrested on Monday, the Inspector General of Police, Central Zone, I. Raja, said on Tuesday. Responding to a query by presspersons on whether the hospital run by the couple would be closed, he said that as such the Valanadu police have registered a case against the doctor couple under eight IPC sections, and a separate team was on the lookout for their absconding son, Dhileepan Raj. The Superintendent of Police N. Rajasekaran was monitoring the developments closely, he said.
When asked about the progress in the case of the murder of two children of a family at Karur, he said the final investigation procedures would take a week for completion. Land has been identified for setting up marine police stations, he said, adding that there was no scope for infiltration by Sri Lankan Tamil militants along the coast line under the Central Zone jurisdiction.
Rowdyism has been contained through timely arrests. Of the over 400 rowdy elements arrested in the recent past, 65 notorious ones were booked under IPC sections.
