“Vanavarayar, a role model for youngsters”

CHENNAI: The Rotary Club of Aarch City-Madras conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award on B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar for his outstanding contribution to education, propagating values in life among youth and being a role-model businessman.
Managing Director of TheHindu and president of the Music Academy, N. Murali, who gave away the award, said Mr. Vanavarayar was a great orator and role model for the younger generation. He explained how Mr. Vanavarayar was a follower of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Murali congratulated the Rotary Club of Aarch City-Madras on its completion of a decade of service, especially in healthcare and education.
Contribution of religion
Mr. Vanavarayar highlighted the contribution of religion to the cause of peace and explained how in the fast changing world, religion had to stand the test of reason and relate itself to the changing needs of time.
