Baalu seeks expeditious transfer of Defence land

CHENNAI: The Union Ministry for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways on Wednesday sought expeditious transfer of land of the Defence Ministry on an exchange basis for three highway projects in St. Thomas Mount and Pallavaram Cantonment near Chennai.

In a letter to Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Union Minister T.R. Baalu said the State Government issued an order in March last for transfer of 8.26 acres of its land in exchange for 4.23 acres of the Defence land.
