Temporary permit for Minister

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister Meera Matheen Mohamed Mustafa had an unexpected hold up for close to an hour at the Cochin International Airport near here on Wednesday after the authorities found that he was without a proper visa.

Mr. Mustafa arrived here by a Srilankan Airlines flight UL 165 at 11.30 a.m. to attend functions in and around the city. He was carrying a diplomatic passport, but without stamped with visa. However, K.E. Joy, SP, Emigration, at the Kochi airport using his discretionary powers evoked the provision of Temporary Landing Permit.
