Bidar: The loss suffered by the district in the recent heavy rains is estimated to be Rs. 12.82 crore, according to a report submitted to the Government by the district administration. Deputy Commissioner Vithal Tekraj announced this at a meeting here on Thursday. Several roads, bridges and houses had been and 118 civil works have been damaged causing a loss of Rs 12.59 crore to the exchequer. Damage has also been caused to 14 civil works in Bhalki Karanja Section 2 leading to a loss of Rs. 12 lakh; and three houses. The death of buffaloes, goats and oxen has caused a loss of Rs 1.11 lakh. The rain received in taluks is as follows: Bhalki (124 mm); Aurad (64.4 mm); Bidar (42 mm); Basava Kalyan (31.4 mm) and Humnabad –23.8 mm.
