Pass percentage increases

Dharmapuri: Dharmapuri district has registered a drastic improvement in pass percentage in the Plus-Two and SSLC examinations in 2007-08 as against the previous year.

The pass percentage in the Plus-Two and SSLC examinations have increased by 20 per cent and 10 per cent respectively, which is one of the highest in the State, Collector Pankaj Kumar Bansal has said.

The Government has sanctioned funds to improve infrastructure in government schools in the district.

The district administration has initiated steps to provide protected drinking water to all government schools in Dharmapuri district.

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has sanctioned an amount of Rs.1.15 crore to construct additional classrooms in the Avvaiyar Government HSS, he said

The Collector handed over an 8 gm gold coin to A. Subashini who emerged as the topper in the Plus-Two examinations. Public Relation Officer M. Palanichamy was present.
