Erode
ERODE: UniverCell, a retail chain selling mobile phones, opened its branch in Erode on Thursday, taking the total number of retail outlets in the State to 32. Satish Babu, owner of UniverCell, says the company planned to offer quality products at affordable price to customers. Started in 1997 with five employees, UniverCell today has 300 employees, helping the company record an annual turnover of Rs. 70 crore. The retail chain will soon set its foot in Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Pudukkottai, Namakkal, Tuticorin and Tirunelveli, he added.
