KOLLAM: Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC) State general secretary S. Pradeep Kumar has alleged that Union Minister of State for Railways R. Velu is trying to upset all railway development in the State. Mr. Pradeep Kumar was inaugurating a convention of the NYC at Kundara, near here, on Thursday. The recent shifting of the office of the Railway Chief Engineer(Construction) from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai Egmore was at Mr. Velu’s instance, he said. The shifting of the office could adversely affect the line doubling and gauge conversion work in the State. Through such actions, Mr. Velu was giving the impression that he was a Minister of Tamil Nadu alone, rather than of the country. NYC district president Santosh Thuppassery presided.
