Air India launches freighter service
BANGALORE: Air India launched its freighter flight service from Bangalore on Wednesday. Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj C.M. Udasi flagged off the flight. This weekly freighter service will operate on Wednesdays on the Mumbai/Bangalore/Dammam/Frankfurt route. The converted Airbus A310 aircraft has a cargo payload of 38 tonnes, according to a press release.
Air India is conducting checks and painting its logo on the second converted aircraft, which is likely to be in service by mid-July. Two freighter services will be in operation from July 22, said the press release.
