dated June 29, 1957: Effects of nuclear tests

Four prominent Indian scientists, Dr. K.S. Krishnan, Dr. D.S. Kothari, Dr. P. Maheswari and Dr. Khanolkar, on June 26 gave their views on the harmful effects of nuclear test explosions in a discussion broadcast by All India Radio.

The scientists explained problems of nuclear explosion from different angles. The questions asked varied from the effect of the fall-out on vegetation to the hazards inflicted by it on the human body. The problem was discussed specially from the point of view of the Asian people.
