Rupee recovers 17 paise


MUMBAI: The rupee snapped a four-day long losing string on Thursday and recovered 17 paise versus the U.S. currency on strong appreciation in Asian currencies and exporters’ dollar sales. The local currency ended at 40.83/84 a dollar.

In active trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee fluctuated in a range of 41.00 and 40.81 during the day after resuming firm at 40.96/97 against Wednesday’s close of 41/41.01 a dollar. — PTI
