Rao is new IBA chairman

MUMBAI: M. B. N. Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, Canara Bank, takes over as Chairman of Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) for 2007-08 from V. P. Shetty, Chairman and Managing Director, IDBI, who is superannuating this month-end. A. K. Khandelwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of Baroda, T. S. Narayanasami, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of India, and Sanjay Nayar, Chief Executive Officer-India, Citibank N.A., have been elected Deputy Chairmen, and V. J. Carneiro, General Manager and CEO, CITIZENCREDIT Co-operative Bank, Honorary Secretary of the association stated a release from IBA.
