NEW DELHI: A young woman has been arrested on charges of strangling her infant girl at Kalyanpuri on Wednesday. Vikas, a scrap dealer, returned from his shop on Wednesday afternoon and found that his wife Alka had murdered their baby girl. He called in the police and handed her over to them. During interrogation, Alka allegedly confessed to having strangled the baby. Vikas told the police that just days after he married Alka in November 2005, she insisted on living with her parents. He took up the matter with her parents but they refused to allow her to live with them saying she was his responsibility now. After Alka gave birth to the baby this June, she allegedly told Vikas to keep the girl with him as she did not want to live with him any more. On Wednesday when he returned home, Alka allegedly told him that she had killed the infant.
