CPI(M) condems Congress criticism

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: The CPI(M) strongly condemned the Congress leaders criticism against its ‘Bhoo Poratam’ here on Thursday. The CPI(M) leaders also challenged that they were ready for a open discussion on housing for the poor.

Addressing a press conference, CPI(M) floor leader in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) general body Ch. Babu Rao made a scathing attack on Congress MLA Devineni Rajasekhar (Nehru) for later’s obeservation that the people’s agitations were never successful. “Will goondaism and rowdism succeed if people’s agitation are not successful?’ he asked. The leaders who change the parties often had no moral right to comment on the Left parties movements and policies, he asserted.

Alleging that the MLA was seeking a pat from Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy by criticising the Bhoo Poratam, Mr. Babu Rao said that it was not proper on the part of Mr. Rajasekhar to ignore the poor, who voted for him. CPI (M) city secretary R. Raghu was also present at the press conference.
