VISAKAHAPTNAM: Candidates from the backward districts of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram were among the top 10 rankers of the Education Common Entrance Test 2007 (EdCET), the ranks of which were released here on Thursday. Three candidates including two girls from Srikakulam and two girls from Vizianagaram were among the top 10 rankers in the biological sciences and social studies streams respectively. Boni Gowri and Tanna Gayathri of Vizianagaram secured third and fourth ranks in social studies. Golla Veerraju, Guntamukkala Bhagyalakshmi and Pilla Kranthi of Srikakulam bagged fifth, sixth and eighth in the biological sciences. Pakki Nageswara Rao of Visakhapatnam secured fifth rank in physical sciences while Syed Najamul Hussain of Visakhapatnam was ninth in biological sciences. The following are the top 10 rankers of each of the four methodologies of EdCET 2007 (with the marks scored by them in brackets): Mathematics: 1. Muthineni Venkateshwarlu of Hyderabad (95), 2. Manthena Rajesh Babu of Warangal (93), 3. Jonnabhotla Srinivas Satish Ramakrishna Sarma of Kakinada (92), 4. Surineni Phaneendra of Tirupati (92), 5. Thuppada Manyam of Hyderabad (91), 6. Talla Hymavathi of Nirmal (91), 7. Malladi Anil Kumar of Vijayawada (91), 8. Kandimalla Naresh Reddy of Nalgonda (90), 9. Kondaveeti Sravani of Tenali (90) and 10. Peeta Anitha of Machilipatnam (90). Physical sciences: 1. Kothapalli S.S.R. Sekhar Surya Rao of Kakinada (105), 2. Chinta Nagaraju of Siddipet (103), 3. Peddinti Venu Gopala Swamy of Rajahmundry (103), 4.
