Fine for daytime street lighting

HYDERABAD: GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer C.V.S.K. Sarma has slapped a fine of Rs.10, 000 on a streetlight maintenance contractor when he found the lights glowing even at 8.30 a.m. near the Parade Grounds on Thursday.

Dr. Sarma also pulled up engineers in Secunderabad as he was not satisfied with the de-silting work at the Gandhi statue. He said he would return in few hours time to see progress of work and ordered deployment of more men and machinery.
