HYDERABAD: An Intermediate first year student Pragati, 16, suffered serious injuries when she reportedly fell down from the sixth floor of Narayana College for Girls building at L.B. Nagar on Thursday. Condition critical
The girl was admitted to Kamineni hospital. The L.B. Nagar police, quoting doctors, said the girl’s condition was critical. A case under Section 338 (grievous hurt) of Indian Penal Code was registered against the college management. Hailing from Reddypalli village of Nalgonda district, the girl joined MPC course in the college a fortnight ago. She was living in the hostel attached to the college. Around 6 a.m., the girl, along with her roommates – Pratibha and Mounica - was walking to the classroom when her ‘chunni’ flew off. “According to her roommates, Pragati tried to catch the chunni and fell down from the sixth floor since the railing of the staircase was short,” LB Nagar Inspector V. Surender Reddy said. The girl’s parents, Srinvasa Rao and Pushpalata, rushed to the college. They told the police they believed the girl fell accidentally.
