UPA women’s rally on July 1

CHENNAI: Women members of the UPA alliance partners in the State will take out a rally from Island Grounds to the Chepauk State Guest House on July l in support of 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and State Legislatures and the UPA Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil.

Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and Ms. Pratibha Patil will witness the rally from a special dais that will be raised in the area between Anna Statue and Periyar Statue on Anna Salai, according to a press release from the DMK. — Special Correspondent
