This Day That Age
Mr. E.M.S. Nambudiripad, Chief Minister of Kerala, who arrived in Ernakulam on June 28 from Trivandrum, told Pressmen that the Land Reform Bill would be introduced, as was originally scheduled, in the next session of the State Assembly commencing on July 13. Referring to the allegation that the Communist Ministry effected cuts in important developmental expenditure in the current year’s budget, the Chief Minister said that the cuts had been made advisedly. He said that because there were only nine months to go in the present financial year, there was no good of undertaking work which was impossible of being fulfilled and allowing funds provided in the budget to be lapsed.
