Significant

The inclusion of the Red Fort in UNESCO’s world heritage list has a special significance for us because, more than anything else, it is a symbol of Independent India — the venue for hoisting the national flag on Independence Day.

P.U. Krishnan,
Udhagamandalam

The fort, described as paradise on earth, deserves to be included in the list. One hopes the Taj Mahal, the monument to love, will be listed among the new seven wonders of the world.

Azeem Qasmi,
New Delhi
