Arrest warrant against mobile firm directors

MUMBAI: A magistrate here has issued non-bailable arrest warrants against the directors of cell phone service provider BPL Ltd., after their cheque for Rs.10.23 crore, favouring The IndusInd Bank, bounced. A spokesman of the bank said on Friday that the cheque was issued for loan repayment. The bank filed a complaint against BPL Ltd. and its directors under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act for dishonouring of the cheque. Bank lawyer Vandana Jaisingh said the Metropolitan Magistrate of the 10th Court at Andheri issued the warrants.
