Minorities panel to hold public hearing
CHENNAI: Members of the National Commission for Minorities, New Delhi, will visit Chennai from July 3 to 5 and hold a public hearing at 11 a.m. on July 4 at the conference of hall of the Collectorate on Rajaji Salai.
An official release said representatives and NGOs belonging to notified minority communities such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Parsis could participate in the public hearing, which would be conducted by M.H. Ansari, chairman and M.P. Pinto, vice-chairman, and five other members. Officials from Tamil Nadu Government would also participate in the programme.
Public representatives and NGOs interested in the welfare of minority communities are welcome to attend the hearing and present their grievances and representations, the release added. — Staff Reporter
