Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over south interior Karnataka and active over coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and coastal Karnataka, at many places over interior Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep. Ponampet (Kodagu dt) and Agumbe recorded extremely heavy rainfall of 35 and 33 centimetres respectively.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in centimetres:- Karkala (Udupi dt) and Linganamakki (Shimoga dt) 22 each, Sringeri (Chickmagalur dt) 21, Jayapura (Chickmagalur dt) 19, Kollur (Udipi dt) and Koppa (Chickmagalur dt) 17 each.
