CHENNAI: The Hindu Opportunities Fair will be organised at CODISSIA Trade Fair Centre, Coimbatore, on July 7 and 8. The fair promises to be a bigger affair with more number of jobs on offer. Six such events were conducted this year by The Hindu at various centres such as Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchi, Hyderabad, Madurai, Bangalore and Vishakapatnam . The events together witnessed more than three lakh job aspirants walking in to meet prospective employers from various industry sectors. More than 25 companies from the engineering, BPO, ITES, IT and textiles industries are participating at the fair in Coimbatore. Most of them are top tier companies. While each company would have a specific requirement, the event on the whole would have lots of jobs on offer for graduates/postgraduates and professionals with up to 10 years experience. The fair serves as an interactive platform for both recruiters and job seekers and offers choices to both of them. While job aspirants have more than 10 of the biggest names to choose from, companies get to pick candidates from a vast number of people. Most companies would short-list candidates, administer tests and conduct interviews. While some companies would recruit candidates at the fair, some others may finalise recruitment and offer appointment letters at a later stage. Candidates can register online at www.thehindu.com or www.tmifirst.com/hf6/index.aspx Once the process of registration is completed, the candidates need to take a printout of their registration and walk into the fair to meet the prospective employers. It is advisable to carry at least 15 printouts of one’s resume. The event is sponsored and presented by Cognizant with Reliance Communications as Communication Partner. The technology partner is TMI First.
