NEW DELHI: The Hari Nagar police in the Capital have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in connection with the death of a young inmate at Tihar Central Jail here on June 7. This is the third case to be registered in connection with the death of six jail inmates earlier this month. The inmate, Amit, was arrested by the Narela police under Sections 107 and 151 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The jail authorities had said that he had died apparently from dehydration. But the post-mortem report revealed that he had sustained injuries. On the basis of the findings, the police have registered an unnamed First Information Report now. Another case
They had earlier registered a case in connection with the death of 25-year-old Vinod after a probe concluded that his death was a result of physical injuries and not natural causes.Vinod was arrested for alleged breach of peace at Patel Nagar on June 10 and he died in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital on June 12. The first case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered in connection with the death of 31-year-old Harish on the basis of the findings of a probe conducted by a metropolitan magistrate.
