NEW DELHI: Delhi University has released its second cut-off list for admission to various undergraduate courses for the new academic year with a marked decline in the cut-off percentages for Science courses. At Hans Raj College, the cut-off for Physics (Honours) and Chemistry (Honours) has declined from 89 per cent and 83 per cent in the first list to 87 per cent and 80 per cent, respectively. Chemistry (Hons) at Gargi has slipped to 74 per cent, offering a glimmer of hope to some students. The cut-off for the same course has fallen from 81 per cent to 77 per cent at Kirori Mal College. The second cut-off list for Botany (Hons) at Kirori Mal has slipped by 5 per cent from 78 per cent to 73 per cent, while Zoology (Hons) has declined marginally from 80 per cent to 79.5 per cent. While admissions to Botany (Hons) and Mathematics (Hons) have closed at Miranda House, there is a small decrease in the cut-off for Physics (Hons) and Chemistry (Hons) that are now available at 80 per cent and 78 per cent respectively. At Ramjas College, which is not taking any more students for Statistics (Hons), the cut-off percentage for B.Sc. Applied Physical Sciences and B.Sc. Applied Life Sciences has registered a considerable decrease from 78 per cent and 74 per cent in the first list to 74 per cent and 70 per cent, respectively. The cut-off percentage for both Physics (Hons) and Chemistry (Hons) at Sri Venkateswara College has dipped by 2 per cent each and students can pursue this course at 86 per cent and 80 per cent, respectively. Though the cut-off for Bio-Chemistry (Hons) has decreased marginally, it still stands at a high 91.5 per cent. The same course is available at Daulat Ram College for 89.5 per cent. The cut-offs for various Science courses have also taken a dip at Acharya Narendra Dev College and Dyal Singh College. The course that received a number of applications this year -- B.Com (Hons) – is full in quite a few colleges like Acharya Narendra Dev, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD), College of Vocational Studies, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC), Deshbandhu (Evening), Gargi, Maharaja Agrasen College, Maitreyi College, Mata Sundri College, Motilal Nehru College, Rajdhani, Ramjas, Satyawati (Evening) and Sri Aurobindo College. While there will be no second list for this course at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), the much sought after college has kept admissions open for Economics (Hons) at a cut-off of 92.75-95.75 per cent as against 93-96 per cent in the first cut-off list. Economics (Hons) is still available at DCAC and Kamla Nehru College at 88-93 per cent and 89 per cent, respectively. The second cut-off for B.Com (Hons) and Economics (Hons) at Hans Raj has decreased marginally to 93.75-95.75 per cent and 92-93 per cent, respectively. B.Com (Hons) is also available at Hindu College at 93.75-94.75 per cent, while those who have scored above 90.5-95.5 can pursue Economics (Hons). Lady Shri Ram College for Women will not take out a second list in both B.Com. (Hons) and Economics (Hons) and admissions to the latter have also been shut in girls’ colleges like Jesus and Mary, Kalindi, Daulat Ram, Maitreyi and co-educational institutions like Kirori Mal, Satyawati and Shyam Lal College. B.Com. (Programme) is still available at Jesus and Mary College and Kirori Mal at 91.25 per cent and 91.75-95.75 per cent, respectively. The second cut-off for the same at S.G.T.B. Khalsa and Venkateswara has fallen marginally to 91.5 per cent and 91 per cent, respectively. Admission to Political Science (Hons) is shut at ARSD, Daulat Ram, Miranda, Ramjas, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College and Indraprastha College for Women. At I.P.College, admissions to most courses like English (Hons), History (Hons), Hindi (Hons), Mathematics (Hons) and Philosophy (Hons) have been closed after the first cut-off list. Political Science (Hons) is still available at Hindu for 86-89 per cent, 74.5-81.5 per cent at Gargi and for 81.5-83.5 per cent at Venkateswara. Admissions to History (Hons) are shut at ARSD, Daulat Ram, Kirori Mal and Miranda.
