SRINAGAR: Temperature in the Valley is on the downward trend, thanks to intermittent rains across the state for the past two days, after the hottest day of the season was recorded three days ago. Minimum temperature in Srinagar, which had shot up to 20.1 degree celsius - four degrees above normal on June 27- came down to 17.6 degrees on Saturday morning due to the rains, the Met office said.Srinagar, which recorded the hottest day of the season on Wednesday with maximum temperature reaching 32.5 degree celsis- 2.5 degrees above normal- is experiencing intermittent rains for the past two days. The city recorded 5.7 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, ending 8.30 am today morning, officials said.Pahalgam in South Kashmir experienced 20.2 mm and Kupwara in North 14.9 mm rainfall during the period. Gulmarg in North Kashmir is also experiencing heavy rains. However, there was no report of snowfall from any high altitude area of the valley, the official said. Qazigund, Banihal on Srinagar Jammu National Highway also experienced rains. – PTI
