MAHABUBNAGAR: Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) farmers would receive water from the project for their ayacut from July 15 and the shutters at RDS headworks would be closed by November 30. This decision was taken at Irrigation Development Board (IDB) meeting that was held here on Saturday. Chairperson of IDB and District Collector V. Usha Rani presided over the meeting and the Minister for Rural Development G. Chinna Reddy was present. In the resolution passed unanimously, it urged the Government to put efforts to obtain membership for the Jurala SE in the Thungabhadra board . Of the total 49,461 acres ayacut between distributory 12A to distributory 31A, ayacut of 32,912 acres would be provided water among which 11,221 acres are wet and 21,691 acres are ID. New bridge
Mr. Seetharam Reddy suggested that a new bridge at RDS could be built across the Thungabhadra on the lines of Sunkesula barrage to benefit the ayacutdars who were not receiving water from LLC.
