Two killed in accident

Payyannur: Two motorists were killed when the motorbike they were riding was hit by a jeep at Echilampayal near here early on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as P.V. Vinod (30), a mechanical engineer working in Nigeria, and his brother-in-law P. Narayanan (45). Sulochana (60), mother of the former have been admitted to the Pariyaram Medical College hospital in a serious condition after she allegedly consumed poison on hearing about the death of her son and son-in-law.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m. when the jeep distributing copies of a newspaper hit the two-wheeler.
