KOLLAM: A tanker lorry loaded with phosphoric acid overturned and went crashing into the adventure zone of the Thenmala Eco-Tourism project here on Saturday. The valve of the tanker snapped in the impact of the accident and acid started flowing into the eco-tourism project area. There is a danger of the acid spilling into the Kallada river. Personnel of the Fire and Rescue Service engaged in attempts to prevent the acid from reaching the river. Lime was sprayed to neutralise the acid. The driver and cleaner of the lorry who were injured in the accident have been admitted to Punalur Government Hospital. The lorry had a Karnataka registration.
