MALAPPURAM: Muslim leader Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal has called upon the people to make use of the advancements in the IT sector to build a healthy and morally upright society. He was speaking after inaugurating an Islamic website launched by the Al-Huda Students Association of Darul Huda Islamic Academy, Chemmad, at a function held here on Saturday. The Thangal said that IT could be effectively used for the propagation of religion. However, he warned people to be vigilant against misuse of IT to create discord in society. Cherusseri Zainuddin Musliar, general secretary of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, presided over the function. IUML treasurer P.K. Kunhalikutty and Central Haj Committee vice-chairman K. Alikutty Musliar were among those who addressed the gathering.
