KADAPA: Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission has served a notice on Kadapa DMHO in charge Subbarayudu on a complaint filed by TDP district political coordinating secretary B. Hariprasad that doctors of RIMS hospital refused to treat an AIDS-affected pregnant woman Lalitha (25) of Proddatur recently. The commission called for an enquiry on the issue, Mr. Hariprasad said on Saturday. In an inhumane manner, doctors of RIMS hospital here refused to treat Lalitha and sent her away referring her to SVIMS hospital at Tirupati, he said. Unable to afford travel to Tirupati and undergo a check-up, the hapless woman returned to Proddatur. The TDP leader urged District Collector M.T. Krishnma Babu to ensure proper treatment of the poor.
