Bangalore: Home Minister M.P. Prakash has promised to convene a meeting of senior police officials within a week to review the list of “naxalite supporters” recently released by the Police Department. He made the announcement here on Saturday after receiving a memorandum from a group of people representing progressive organisations. The memorandum says that most people listed as “naxalite supporters” are those involved in democratic struggles for social justice. They are all people who have identified themselves with anti-communal agitations in various capacities. It has demanded that the list be withdrawn. Among the signatories to the memorandum are Gauri Lankesh, Kalkuli Vittal Hegde and V.S. Sridhar. — Special Correspondent
