CHENNAI: Children in the city can look forward to an entertaining and informative week ahead. Goodwill Communications and Rotary International (District 3230), in association with Eventspro Visions, are organising “Come on Kidz 07’, a children’s festival featuring games, arts, theatre and more. The event will be held between July 3 and 8 at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam.

The festival will be open from 10.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. on all six days. School teams can showcase their skills in music, dance, acrobatics or martial arts between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Participants will receive certificates and mementos. The school team adjudged the best, by a group of panellists, will receive a cash award of Rs.50,000 and a rolling shield. Similarly, children from residential colonies and apartment complexes can also put up short performances.

The winning team will get a rolling shield. Organisers have planned several cultural programmes including skits such as ‘Meghadootham’ and ‘Vaali vadam’ in the evenings.

Entry to the festival is free for children. Adults would need to purchase an entry pass for Rs.20. Students of Corporation Schools would receive two adult passes free.
