Sullia: Minister for Higher Education D.H. Shankaramurthy said here on Friday that the State Government was giving priority to higher education as it had sanctioned 178 Government first grade colleges in the State. He was speaking at the inaugural function of Government first grade college here. The Minister also laid the foundation stone for the college building at Kodiyalabail at an estimated cost of Rs. One crore. Mr. Shankaramurthy said 5,000 teachers would be appointed in the State. B. Nagaraja Shetty, Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada, said the coalition government had brought many positive changes in the education sector.
