VISAKHAPATNAM: Staging of recording dances during festivals and other programmes in the district has been banned, according to a press release from Superintendent of Police Akun Sabarwal on Saturday. Mr. Sabarwal said in a press release said that an end must be put to the ugly practice of making women dance in an obscene manner in the name of recording dances and ‘dance-baby-dance’ shows. The recording dances were banned after it was noticed that they were being staged even during festivals of village goddesses. The dancers as well as the organisers would be arrested, the SP said. Even those arranging traditional programmes during festivals and celebrations had to obtain permission from the police and they could contact the Deputy SP concerned, he added.
