CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over south interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and coastal Karnataka, at many places over interior Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema.

Bhagamandala (Kodagu dt) and Kottigehara (Chickmagalur dt) recorded extremely heavy rainfall of 43 and 26 Centimetres respectively.

SPECIAL WEATHER WARNING FOR PUBLIC SERVICES:

Moderate to rather heavy rain is likely to occur at most places over all the districts of coastal Karnataka and at many places over all the districts of interior Karnataka and Kerala, during next two days.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Telangana and Lakshadweep.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and south interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Forecast (Valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over Telangana and Lakshadweep. Isolated ra in or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
