BANGALORE: The ING Vysya Life Insurance in association with BangaloreOne launched the service of insurance policy renewal payments through the latter’s Integrated Citizen Service Centres. Thus, customers of ING Vysya can now pay their policy renewal payment at any of the 16 BangaloreOne centres spread across the city. The service was launched by the Secretary to Government, e-governance, Rajeev Chawla and the vice-president of Customer Services of ING Vysya life, Rahul Agarwal, here recently. Mr. Agarwal said, “Our association with BangaloreOne is another value addition that we are able to provide to our customers. With well-established BangaloreOne centres, it would provide ease and convenience of renewal premium payment to our Bangalore customers.” The service would be available at all BangaloreOne centres round-the-clock on all days, including holidays. The service is offered free to all Bangalore-based ING Vysya Life customers and they can pay by cash, cheque, demand draft or credit card. The other services offered at BangaloreOne centres include payment of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, CellOne, Tata Indicom, Reliance, Spice and Airtel bills; payment of Bruaht Bangalore Mahanagara Palike property tax, road tax and traffic fine; booking of railway tickets; registration and renewal of passports; issue of birth and death certificates; sale of passport applications; renewal of learners’ licenses; market value assistance for property registration; renewal of registration certificates of shops and commercial establishments; Western Union Money Transfer; renewal of monthly Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus passes and domestic flight booking. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chawla said the Government was keen on expanding the ambit of BangaloreOne service centres by including new areas of service. “We have been seriously working on making the service available through mobile counters for the last six months,” he said and added a pilot project for collection of payments by mobile centres would soon be launched. Such a project, Mr. Chawla said, would be particularly of much help in rural areas where the residents have to approach the taluk headquarters for even a small work. Mr. Chawla said the department was also in consultation with the Commercial Taxes and Income Tax departments for collection of payments through BangaloreOne Centres and the same might materialise shortly. Though various government agencies and departments could outsource the process of collection of payments and other ancillary works to agencies like BangaloreOne, they have not done so, he regretted. Centres at Hubli
A-la BangaloreOne centres would be set up in the twin cities of Hubli-Dharwad within two months, Mr. Chawla said. The vendor has to be selected to offer the services, he added.
