dated July 3, 1957: Another explosion on sun

A new giant explosion on the sun was seen in the US on July 2 as scientists were still studying the effects of the one which earlier had reached the earth in the form of magnetic storms in high atmosphere, dislocating radio communications. There were no indications whether the new flare-up would bring more magnetic disturbances to the earth. The new explosion, slightly less intense than the first, was reported by Sacramento Peak Observatory in California.
