TDP flays move to close down schools

HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party has charged the Government with withdrawing itself from education sector with the intention of privatising it in a phased manner as indicated by its move to close down 6,600 primary, middle and high schools.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, party’s Polit Bureau member Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and Telugu Nadu Students Federation president Narsi Reddy said the State Government has made its intention known last year itself when it closed down 1,022 primary schools with the excuse that there was not enough strength.
