LODNON: Two doctors, who worked in Britain but are not believed to be British nationals, are among the suspects being held by police in connection with the London and Glasgow bomb plot. With two more arrests on Monday, the number of people in police custody went up to seven as a nationwide hunt for more suspects continued and it emerged that none of those arrested so far was British-born. This was seen as a significant break from the pattern of previous terror plots in which British-born youth of Pakistani origin were heavily involved. The two men arrested on Monday were reported to be aged 25 and 27 and of “Middle Eastern nationalities”, according to the BBC. As the investigation gathered pace, Peter Clarke, head of Scotland Yard’s counter-terro rism command, said the links between the failed London bombings and the botched suicide attack on Glasgow airport were becoming “ever clearer”. Meanwhile, one of the two doctors was identified as Mohammed Asha (26), a Jordanian, who came to Britain a few years ago and worked in two hospitals. He was arrested on Saturday night with a 27-year-old woman, thought to be his wife, when police intercepted their car on a motorway. The second doctor, whose name has not been disclosed, was reported to be one of the occupants of the blazing jeep that was driven through the Glasgow airport terminal on Saturday. But there was no official confirmation.
