Dowry death of woman

Twentytwo-year-old Sarjana Begum died after her husband assaulted her at their house at Vattepally on Sunday.

The police said Sarjana’s

husband Riyaz used to torture her physically demanding additional dowry.

Their marriage was held 18 months ago.

Farmer commits suicide

A farmer committed suicide by jumping in front of the MMTS train at Borabanda on Sunday. P. Kumara Chowdhary (25), a native of Anantapur district, ended his life due to financial problems, according to the police.

Harassment leads to woman’s death

A forty-year-old woman who attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze at her residence at Golconda on Saturday, died while undergoing treatment at

Osmania General Hospital on Sunday. Wahida Begum took the drastic step following alleged harassment by her in-laws.

Her husband Nayeem is

working in Dubai, police said.

Burglars strike in Kachiguda

A private school owner, S. Kutumba Rao, lost Rs. 50,000

and gold jewellery weighing 45 grams when burglars struck at

his rented house in Kachiguda during day time on Monday.

While Rao was away at his school, his wife Laxmi went to hospital at 2 p.m. She returned to the house in Qutbiguda around 3.45 p.m. only to see the lock of the

house on ground floor broken

and the property stolen.
