MALCO net up 181 per cent

METTUR: Madras Aluminium Company (MALCO) Limited has posted net profit of Rs. 135 crore in the nine month period ended at March 31 this year.

It was 181 per cent increase when compared to the corresponding period last year. The net turnover of the company has increased by 25 per cent to Rs. 403 crore, MALCO Chief Executive Officer and Director Suresh Rathi told reporters here recently. The company for the first time since its incorporation has become a debt-free company. We have re-paid all the loans, he added. Mr. Suresh Rathi said that MALCO had planned to expand the Alumina capacity from 80,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) to 1,20,000 tpa.
