>>The Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation was incorrectly mentioned as the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Industrial Corporation, in a report “Dedicated zones: Rajasthan’ s way” (“Business” page, July 3, 2007), Also, the contraction should have been RIICO (as given in the second paragraph of the report) and not RICCO (incorrect in five instances). Incorporated as the Rajasthan State In dustrial & Mineral Development Corporation (RIMDC) on March 28, 1969, the corporation was renamed as RIICO on January 1, 1980.

>>In a report “Nimitz captain: India free to conduct radiation surveys” (July 2, 2007, page 1), the caption of the accompanying photograph was: “First Visit: An F/a-18 lands aboard the USS Nimitz on Sunday as the aircraft carrier cruises towards the Chennai port.” The aircraft is an F/A-18 Super Hornet, and not F/a-18. Both “F” and “A” should have been in capital letters, where the “F” stands for Fighter and the “A” for Attack.

Sports page corrections:

>>A report “[Former Test cricketer Dilip] Sardesai is no more” (July 3, 2007) stated that Sardesai scored one double century. The clarification is that other than the 212 he scored against the West Indies, he made 200 not out against New Zealand at Bombay.

>>A report “Raikkonen leads Ferrari 1-2” (July 2, 2007) incorrectly stated that Schumacher had led a Ferrari 1-2 in qualifying as well as the race in the French GP last year. Though Schumacher and Massa finished first and second respectively in the qualifying, Alonso finished second in the race behind Schumacher.

>>In a report “Wet conditions delay start” (July 2, 2007), the caption of the accompanying AFP photograph was: “Having Fun: With rain delaying the start of the third ODI, R.P. Singh (left) and Yuvraj Singh try their hand at football.” The ball seen in the picture was a volleyball.
