BANGALORE: Ajay patil and S. Siddarth claimed a double each in the Ubhayakar Badminton Academy’s State junior ranking championship which concluded at the KBA courts here on Tuesday. The top seed, Ajay set a hot pace for his younger rival Vinay Hari and romped to a 21-14, 21-15 victory in the boys’ under-16 singles final. Later, Ajay and R.N. Suraj won the doubles title, beating L.U. Chirag and Sai Praneeth 21-17, 21-17 in the final. S. Siddarth, who had won the under-13 doubles with Shiv Nayak on Monday, defeated his doubles partner 21-18,21-12 in the under-13 singles final. Jacqueline Kunnath and Anisha Karumbaiah emerged as girls’ under-16 and under-13 singles champions respectively. Aditya Padival was adjudged as the most promising player of the tournament and he won a special award instituted by Bangalore North District Badminton Association. Indian international Arvind Bhat presided and gave away the prizes. The results (all finals): Boys: Under-16 singles: Ajay Patil bt Vinay Hari 21-14, 21-15. Doubles: Ajay Patil & R.N. Suraj bt L.U. Chirag & Sai Praneeth 21-17, 21-17. Under-13 singles: S. Siddarth bt Shiv Nayak 21-18, 21-12. Girls: Under-16 singles: Jacqueline Kunnath bt Uttara Prakash 21-8, 21-19.
