Young leaders all set to take up new responsibilities School Notes

BANGALORE: Baldwin Girls’ High School, Richmond Road, appointed new leaders at the investiture ceremony held recently. Rev. Anilkumar Servand was the chief guest at the ceremony. He emphasised the point that the purpose of leadership is to give light by exemplary living and providing a contrast to the evil in the world.

He, along with principal Indira Williams, pinned the insignia of office on the office-bearers of the Baldwin Democratic Organisation (BDO). Ms. Indira then administered the oath to the school president Sheyma Noorian, vice-president Usha Chandrakanth, and games captain Shrujana Ambatti. The ceremony ended with the student leaders promising to carry out their responsibilities with God’s help.

Debate

The girls from Bishop Cotton Girls’ High School, St. Mark’s Road, emerged winners in the Frank Anthony All India Inter-school Debate Competition conducted by Ryan International School, Kundalahalli recently.

“Parents want prodigies not children” was the topic. Ravindra Baladakere, Shrabani Mukhopadhya and Sushila Punitha David were the judges. The team from Bishop Cotton Girls’ beat the team from St. Ann’s High School, Secunderabad and lifted the trophy.

Fourth anniversary

The fourth anniversary of National Public School, Koramangala, was organised in the school premises recently. The school motto – Reach out, Reach high and Reach beyond, was elaborated on and reiterated. K.P. Gopalakrishna, chairman of the institution lauded the efforts of the teachers. Santhamma Gopalakrishna, dean of the institution, expressed her happiness at the meritorious existence of the school for the past four years.

Investiture

Achala Vidya Mandir High School, Rajajinagar, held an investiture ceremony recently. The members of the school cabinet were elected through ballot. Neha Pant was elected president and Nagakrupa vice-president. Abhirama Hule was elected the pupil secretary. Eleven other student leaders took charge of office.
